Kidney

Kidney health falls under two medical specialties: urology and nephrology. At The Urology Foundation we focus on the urology side of kidney health.

While both urology and nephrology deal with kidney-related conditions, urology focuses on structural and surgical issues (including kidney cancer, kidney stone removal and structural problems or injury), while nephrology deals with kidney function and medical management for conditions affecting the kidneys’ ability to filter blood and maintain fluid balance (such as chronic kidney disease, kidney failure, kidney infections and inflammation and dialysis management).

Our stories

Urology diseases can affect people’s lives in profound, sometimes devastating ways. Yet, behind each case is often an account of bravery, medical excellence, and even recovery.

Your stories are important. Through understanding the experiences of people affected by urology diseases, we can take action to drive real change. We’d love to hear from you about your experiences.
