BAUN Travel Grants

The Urology Foundation is delighted to be able to offer 6 grants of up to £500 to support Urology Nurses who are wanting to attend the BAUN Conference on 16-18th November 2025 in Edinburgh. Please see below for more information.

How to apply

To apply, please include the following information on hospital or practice letterhead (no more than two sides of A4):

  1. Your name, your current title and role, your professional or trainee registration number and/or your professional body
  2. The name and location of the course/conference and the dates you wish to attend
  3. The reason for attending and the benefit that would be derived from attendance, i.e.
  • why you think this conference would help your development (highlighting aspects from the academic programme)
  • how attending this conference will help the department
  • how attending this conference will help urology patients

As well as the above, please also include:

  1. A letter of support from the head of department or supervisor
  2. A current curriculum vitae (pertinent details only – maximum of two pages)

The final collated application documents should be sent to grants@theurologyfoundation.org. 

Grants are worth up to £500 each and are not transferable.

When will you hear the outcome of your application?

Will aim to let you know the outcome of your application within three weeks.

In the event of over-subscription, the potential benefit that would be derived from the course/conference will be taken into account.

Reporting and Payment

Payment of the grant will be made after the trip has ended and is dependent on The Urology Foundation’s receipt of:

  1. A satisfactory report on the trip, and
  2. Copies of all relevant receipts

Registration is now open for the BAUN 2025 Annual Conference!

Celebrate 30 years of the British Association of Urological Nurses (BAUN) this year at their conference in Edinburgh.  The main conference takes place on the 17th and 18th November 2025. In addition, their popular pre-conference  workshops take place on Sunday 16th November. Across both days of the main conference there will be approximately 15 hours of formal education, for the purposes of CPD. The full programme for 17th and 18th November is available HERE.

Urology Nurse of the Year

The Urology Nurse of the Year is awarded by The Urology Foundation and BAUN in recognition of outstanding contributions by a nurse in the field of urology. The BAUN Annual Awards Dinner takes place during the conference on Monday 17th November.
