The Urology Foundation has been training surgeons in robotic surgery for over a decade. Many of the UK's top surgeons received their training through TUF and have gone on to have great success with their robotic surgery.
Since TUF began funding robotic surgery, the percentages of operations that are robotic has risen considerably. In 2012, 32% of prostatectomies were robotic, by 2017 it was 86%. In 2015, 36% of patial nephrectomies were performed robotically, but this nearly doubled to 61% by 2017.
