Ask The Expert - Erectile Dysfunction (ED) details

Erectile dysfunction is a common problem, mainly affecting men past the age of 40, and around 1 in 10 men overall. However many men feel embarrassed to discuss it with their doctor so we & talkhealth are taking it as the subject of our next online clinic.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is the persistent or recurrent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for sexual activity. It is sometimes known as 'impotence'.  It's a very common problem, particularly affecting men past the age of 40, and around 1 in 10 men overall.  Erectile dysfunction can be caused by many factors and may have a gradual or sudden onset.

Despite the impact, stress and worry caused by ED many men feel embarrassed to discuss the issue with their doctor, but it is important that you do as ED can also be a sign of other illnesses such as heart disease or diabetes.

You will be able to post your questions from Monday 7 November at Expert Clinic on Erectile Dysfunction - The Urology Foundation (talkhealthpartnership.com)
