Mary was formerly a Consultant Urological Surgeon in Middlesborough specialising in functional and reconstructive urological surgery and neurourology. Having gained a PhD in the Molecular Biology of the Bladder in Health and Disease she developed a career long interest and specialist expertise in the management of benign, chronic disorders of the bladder, including incontinence, bladder pain syndrome (BPS) and urinary tract infection. She served on the committee of the British Association of Urologists (BAUS) committee of Female, Functional, Neurological and Urodynamic Urology Section until her retirement from clinical urology in 2019.

Mary benefitted from a TUF sponsored observership at UC Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, during her training and is delighted to be able to repay that support by being an active member of the TUF Board of Trustees.
