Our Strategy

Our strategy, ‘The Way Ahead 2023-2025’, is a bold and ambitious vision and it sets out how we will continue to lead the fight against urology disease.

Way Ahead – Strategy 2023-2025

Our work leads to significant breakthroughs

Since 1995, we’ve made a real impact. Our investment in research, training and education programmes has led to significant breakthroughs in our understanding of urology disease and improvements in the delivery of care.

But there’s still more to do

In 2023 we published our latest strategy. This strategy ‘The Way Ahead 2023-2025’ is bold and ambitious and it sets out how we will continue to lead the fight against urology disease.

Patients are at the heart of our strategy

At the heart of our work are patients and their families: involving and working with people affected by urology disease, embedding patient integration and engagement in research and ensuring they have a “voice” in shaping future research agendas and priority areas.

We encourage patients and their families to join us in shaping the future of urology research. We are proud to bring together researchers and people affected by urology conditions – from those who experience or are at risk of urology diseases, as well as carers and anyone with an interest – to drive research forward. Be part of our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) programme and you could help to deliver life-changing results.

The Way Ahead 2023-2025

Our strategy, ‘The Way Ahead 2023-2025’, is a bold and ambitious vision and it informs all of the work we’re doing.

We are working to ensure we can achieve our aim of significantly accelerating the progress of urology research, to advance knowledge, to invest in our scientific and medical communities and, guided by research outcomes, to drive change.

Our strategy sets out the eight priorities we are working towards to achieve our ambition. These are:

  1. Significantly accelerate the progress of urological research
  2. Invest in our scientific and medical communities
  3. Facilitate collaborations and partnerships
  4. Drive change as a result of research outcomes
  5. Campaign for further investment in research
  6. Place people affected by urological disease at the heart of research
  7. Give a voice to the people affected by or at risk of urological disease
  8. Transforming The Urology Foundation

Our approach

The three key aspects of our work involve:

  • accelerating urology research: funding more research into urology conditions and diseases
  • advancing urology skills: providing education and training programmes for the medical and scientific urology community leading to better treatment and outcomes for urology patients
  • achieving impact: delivering awareness, education and information and driving real change based on research outcomes and patient need through policy and campaigns
