Research Strategy 2024-2028

Our Research Strategy

The Urology Foundation launched our Research Strategy 2024-2028 titled ‘Improving urology health: Transforming lives through research’ at an event in London.

We know that 1 in 2 of us will experience a urology condition in our lifetime. We will all know someone affected.

At The Urology Foundation, we’re creating a brighter future for everyone who will be affected by urology disease and our Research Strategy is our roadmap for achieving our ambitions. It gives us a clear direction and shows just what an exciting time this is for the future of urology research.

Our strategy is built on four pillars, each with clearly defined objectives:

  1. Lead a transformation in urology health
  2. Understand the factors driving urological cancers and conditions
  3. Build and invest in our research community
  4. Improve outcomes for patients and their families

We’re collaborators

The Urology Foundation is incredibly proud of our successes to date and how we’re shaping the face of urology research. We recognise that when the urology community comes together we can achieve great things. We’re therefore delighted by the progress we’re making collaboratively with others in the community.

Strategic partnership is key to our success and we took our principles of collaboration into our research strategy. We reached out to our community – consulting researchers, clinicians, nurses, allied health professionals, those living with a urology condition and their families, decision makers and influencers and those with an interest in urology – to explore what is needed in urology research and which areas make the biggest impact.

Together we identified key areas – from specific disease areas to health inequalities, prevention measures and treatments, to training and improving care pathways.

We’re excited for the future of our research and to continue to revolutionise urology care.

Join us

We know that together, we can build a brighter urology future and make a real difference for the 1 in 2 of us who will experience a urology condition.

We’re keen to work with the urology community to deliver on our strategy and we would be delighted to discuss this with you in more detail.
